Mount Kilimanjaro Itinerary:
Day 1: Moshi to Mandara Hut (Horombo Camp)
Your Kilimanjaro climbing adventure begins as you leave Moshi for Kilimanjaro National Park Gate. After registration and meeting your experienced climbing crew, embark on a 5-6 hour trek through a lush rainforest to reach Mandara Hut (Horombo Camp) at an altitude of 2,700 meters. Rest and prepare for the challenging ascent ahead. Overnight at Mandara Hut.
Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Resume your Kilimanjaro climbing journey from Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut. Trek through the heather and moorland zone, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. The hike takes about 5-6 hours, reaching an altitude of around 3,700 meters at Horombo Hut. Take time to rest and acclimatize, essential for a successful summit attempt. Overnight at Horombo Hut.
Day 3: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
Continue your Kilimanjaro climb from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut. Enter the alpine desert terrain, passing the "Last Water Point." The trek takes 6-7 hours, reaching an altitude of approximately 4,700 meters at Kibo Hut. Rest early to prepare for the challenging summit day ahead. Overnight at Kibo Hut.
Day 4: Summit Day - Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut
Summit Day. Begin the climb from Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5,895 meters. Start around midnight to reach the summit at sunrise. Trek through freezing temperatures and steep switchbacks under the starlit sky. Witness breathtaking panoramic views from the top. Descend to Kibo Hut for a brief rest before continuing down to Horombo Hut. The entire day's hike may take 10-14 hours. Overnight at Horombo Hut, celebrating your remarkable achievement.
Day 5: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate and Departure
The final leg of your Kilimanjaro climbing tour takes you from Horombo Hut through the lush rainforest back to Marangu Gate. Say goodbye to your climbing crew and receive your certificate of achievement. Transfer back to Moshi for a celebratory dinner and a relaxing evening. Overnight in Moshi.
